About Seattle Civic Band

Since our founding in 1989, we bring joy through music, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels in Seattle.

You will find us every year on the 4th of July at the Ballard Locks for our annual Independence Day Celebration, as well as at various events and locations throughout the year.

Our Mission

The mission of the Seattle Civic Band is to provide musical enjoyment to its members and to participate in the musical activities of Greater Seattle, including performances and workshops, as a service to the community.

We welcome players of all ages and skill levels, and strive to create an environment that is fun and welcoming, and fosters a passion to play and enjoy concert band music.

Playing with the Seattle Civic Band has been a joyful journey, blending community spirit with the love of music.

Location

Our rehearsals take place in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle

HELPFUL TIP: Entrance to our rehearsal space is on the lower level of the building, and the entrance is around the back. We recommend to park in the parking lot just off of 95th. There is an alley that accesses the entrance, and a limited number of accessible spots are available in the alley.

Is experience required?

Players must have the ability to read music and be able to provide their own instrument (except percussion) and stand. Previous ensemble experience is not necessary, and beginners are welcome.
